Pirabaharan has attained Martyrdom. Various sources gave varying information on the Martyrdom of our National Leader. Contradictory information are circulating that he was arrested, that he surrendered, that he was killed after interrogation and that he committed suicide. In this situation, we, the Department of Intelligence have the responsibility to release confirmed news and information. Largest ammunition dump explodes in Sri Lanka

annainewvavuniyablastResidents of Eerapperiyaku’lam in Vavuniyaa reported hearing loud explosions, and seeing fire from the ammunition dump of the 211- Due Command of the Sri Lanka Army (SLA) in Vavuniyaa from 6:00 p.m. Tuesday. The explosions have been continuing for more than an hour, according to reports from Vavuniyaa. The ammunition dump is one of the largest used by the SLA, military observers said. Doctors from “no-fire zone” arrested and their whereabouts are unknown

The veteran doctors T. Saththiyamoorthy and S. Varadarajah, who were working at hospitals inside the so-called no-fire zone, who publicised daily the casualties caused by heavy shelling there, have been arrested when they entered Sri Lanka Army controlled territory and their whereabouts are unknown. Both Dr. Sathyamoorthy and Dr. Varadarajan have been recommended by the UN for special honours for their part in carrying out their professional duties under difficult and trying conditions in the war front so far. Earlier, the government defence spokesperson and minister Kehiliya Rambukwella told journalists in the Colombo that the two doctors were not attached to the Government service.

Media Release by Liberation Tigers of Tamileelam  ” The civilian population in the LTTE controlled Mullitivu coastal areas are faced with serious crisis due to the deliberate denial of food and other humanitarian supplies by the Sri Lankan Government. The dwindling stocks coupled with the deliberate withholding of fresh supplies has made starvation imminent over 165 000 civilians belonging to 40, 000 families now living in this area. Food supplies have been withheld since 2nd April, local authorities have been seeking dry rations since 11th April in an attempt to minimize the spectre of starvation that looms ahead. According to the District Secretariat for the month of March just 1050 Metric Tons of food was received whereas the minimum requires was 4950 MT. Read more

Siriththiran [Photo: LTTE]The LTTE Friday claimed two aircraft of Black Air Tiger mission diving into Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) Headquarters in Colombo and into the SLAF base at Katunayaka, carrying out successful air raids. The Tigers also released photograph of the two Black Air Tigers, Col. Roopan and Lt. Col. Siriththiran with LTTE leader Velupillai Pirapaharan before embarking on their mission. Both the Tamileelam Air Force (TAF) pilots have earlier been decorated with Blue Tiger award for having carried out successful air raids on enemy targets, according to a news release issued by the LTTE. Tamil Nadu journalist burns himself to death condemning Indian inaction

A young Tamil activist burnt himself to death in front of the Shastri Bhavan, the Indian Central Government’s Chennai Head office Thursday, reports from Chennai said. The activist, Mr. Muthukumar, from Thooththukkudi, who works for Pe’n'nea Nee feminist magazine as typist and also writes articles, doused himself with petrol and set himself afire, condemning the futile visit by Indian Foreign Minister Pranab Mukherjee, who failed to stop the war in Sri Lanka and save Eezham Tamils.
