“Hvis man ser på krigsforbrydelser gennem historien, er der ikke et eneste eksempel på at en vinder af en krig er blevet stillet for en domstol. De er altid blevet brugt mod tabere. Og skulle man til at bruge den mod vindere, skulle man begynde et helt andet sted. Sri Lanka brugte ikke atom bomber eller udslettede byer under krigen.” sagde Sri Lankas udenrigsminister og nyligt udnævnte permanente repræsentant overfor FN, Palitha Kohona i et interview til colombo avisen, Daily Mirror, torsdag. Palitha Kohona beskyldte internationale organisationer for ikke at ville lave permanente  faciliteter i flygtningelejrene. “Det seneste problem er regnen, som selvfølgelig forringede forholdene. Da regeringen bad de internationale organisationer asfaltere stier og veje I lejrene, fik de afslag med begrundelse I at lejrene dermed ville blive permanente. I dag klager de selv samme organisationer over at vejene ikke er brugbare. Det samme med hensyn til toiletterne.” sagde han.
