சிறிலங்கா இராணுவத்திடம் 17ம் திகதி சரணடைந்ததாகக் கூறப்படும் கேணல் ரமேசிடம், தேசிய தலைவரின் மகள் (துவாரகா) எங்கே என்று இராணுவம் கேட்டுள்ளது. அதற்கு அவர் தனக்குத் தெரியாது எனப் பதிலளித்துள்ளார். அதுமட்டும் அல்லாது, தேசிய தலைவரின் மனைவி எங்கே என்ற கேள்வியும் முன்வைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. அதற்கும் தளபதி ரமேசு அவர்கள் தெரியாது என்றே பதில் வழங்கியுள்ளார். பின்னர் தளபதி ஜெயம் எங்கே? அவர் எந்த இடத்திற்கு பொறுப்பாக இருந்தார்?, தேசிய தலைவரின் நெருங்கிய நண்பர்கள் யார்? யார்? இறுதிப் போர் நடைபெற்ற வேளையில் தேசியதலைவருடன் யார் மிகவும் நெருக்கமாக இருந்தார்கள் என்ற கேள்விகளும்; முன்வைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளதை காணொளியில் காணலாம்.

இறுதி யுத்தத்தின் போதும் 16, 17, 18 என மூன்று நாட்களாக பல கட்டங்களாக தமிழீழ அரசியல்துறைப் பொறுப்பாளர்களும், ஆயுதம் தாங்காத செயற்பாட்டாளர்களும் சிறிலங்கா இராணுவத்தினரிடம் சரணடைந்தனர். ஆனால் அவர்களில் கணிசமான பேரை இராணுவம் கடுமையாகத் தாக்கி விசாரித்து பின்னர் படுகொலை செய்துள்ளது. பல தளபதிகளின் உடல்கள் இவைதான் என அடையாளம் காட்டிய தேசிய பாதுகாப்பு இணையம், தமிழீழ புலனாய்வுத்துறைப் பொறுப்பாளர் பொட்டம்மானைப் பற்றி வாயே திறக்கவில்லை என்பது இங்கே குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது. அவர் குறித்து எந்த ஒரு கருத்தையும் இலங்கை அரசு இதுவரை முன்வைக்கவில்லை. இந் நிலையில் சரணடைந்த தளபதி ரமேசிடம் தலைவரின் மனைவி எங்கே என இராணுவம் விசாரித்துள்ளது.

உருக்குலையாத ஒரு உடலைக் காட்டி தேசியத்ததலைவர் கொல்லப்பட்டுவிட்டதாக கூறிய சிறிலங்கா படையினர் தேசியத்தலைவருடன் சென்றவர்கள் யார் என்று தளபதி ரமேசிடம் விசாரனை செய்வது விசித்திரமாகவே உள்ளது.

அதாவது இந்த விசாரணை மே 18ம் திகதி போர் முடிவடைந்து, அனைத்துப் பகுதிகளையும் இராணுவம் தனது கட்டுப்பாட்டில் கொண்டுவந்த பின்னர் மே 22ம் திகதி நடைபெற்றதாகக் கூறப்படுகிறது. இராணுவத்தால் கண்டுபிடிக்கப்பட முடியாத நிலையில், தேசிய தலைவர் அவர்களின் மனைவி இருப்பதை இலங்கைப் புலனாய்வு வெளிப்படையாக ஒத்துக்கொள்கிறது என்பதற்கு இந்த காணொளி ஆதாரமாக உள்ளது எனலாம். இதுபோன்று விடைகாண முடியாத பல சிக்கல்கள் இன்னும் தொடர்கிறது. சரணடைந்த பல போராளிகளும் சில தளபதிகளும் கொல்லப்பட்ட நிலையில், கேணல் ரமேசின் நிலை என்ன என்று இன்னும் தெரியவில்லை. அவரை இராணுவம் உயிரோடு பிடித்து விசாரிக்கும் காட்சிகள் வெளியாகியுள்ளதே தவிர அவரின் இன்றைய நிலை என்ன என்பதை எவராலும் கூறமுடியாத நிலை காணப்படுகிறது.

அவரும் கொல்லப்பட்டிருக்கலாம் என்ற அச்சம் காணப்படுவதாக, சட்டத்துக்குப் புறம்பான கொலைகளை ஆராயும் ஐ.நா அதிகாரி தெரிவித்துள்ளார்.
