யாழ்.பல்கலைக்கழக மாணவனொருவனை ஈபிடிபி உறுப்பினரொருவர் சிறைப்பிடித்து வைத்த சம்பவம் யாழ்.நகரப்பகுதியினில் இன்று பெரும் பரபரப்பினை ஏற்படுத்தியிருந்தது. எனினும் பின்னர் பொதுமக்களதும் ஊடகவியலாளர்கள் சிலரதும் தலையீட்டையடுத்து மாணவன் விடுவிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளார்.
வன்னியைச் சேர்ந்த குறித்த மாணவன் யாழ்.மத்திய பேருந்து நிலையத்திலிருந்து கஸ்தூரியார் வீதியூடாக பல்கலைக்கழகம் நோக்கி பயணித்துள்ளான். அவ்வேளையிலேயே இவ்விளைஞனை வழி மறித்த குறித்த நபர் தன்னை ஈபிடிபி உறுப்பினரென அடையாளப்படுத்தி அவனது அடையாள அட்டையினை பறிமுதல் செய்ததுடன் அவனை அச்சுறுத்தி தடுத்தும் வைத்துள்ளார்.
இது தொடர்பினில் அப்பகுதி வர்த்தகர்கள் கேள்வி எழுப்பியபோது அவர்களையும் இந்நபர் அச்சுறுத்தியுள்ளார். சுமார் மூன்ற மணி நேரத்திற்கு மேலாக இவ்விழுபறி நீடித்துள்ளதுடன் மாணவனை துப்பாக்கியால் சுட்டுவிடப்போவதாகவும் மிரட்டியுள்ளார்.தடுத்து வைக்கப்பட்டிருந்த மாணவன் மாணவர் ஒன்றிய பிரதிநிதிகளிடம் முறைப்பாடு செய்ய அவர்கள் ஊடகவியலாளர்களின் உதவியினை நாடியிருந்தனர். அங்கு ஊடகவியலாளர்கள் குவிந்ததுடன் சிறிலங்கா பொலிஸாரையும் அழைத்து வந்திருந்தனர்.
இதையடுத்து குறித்த நபர் விசாரணைக்கென சிறிலங்கா பொலிஸாரால் கொண்டுசெல்லப்பட்டுள்ளார். எனினும் குறித்த நபர் தமது உறுப்பினரல்லவென ஈபிடிபி மறுதலித்துள்ளது. நெடுந்தீவினை சேர்ந்த இந்நபர் ஈபிடிபி சார்பினில் செயற்பட்டு வரும் மத்தியஸ்த குழுவின் உறுப்பினரெனவும் தீவிர ஆதரவாளரெனவும் தகவல்கள் தெரிவிக்கின்றன.அத்துடன் நெடுந்தீவினில் சிகை அலங்கரிப்பு நிலையமொன்றினையும் நடத்தி வந்திருந்ததாக தகவல்கள் கூறுகின்றன.
